High Winds

 
 

HIGH WINDS is a trans guy with insomnia who goes on a hallucinatory road trip in search of his estranged brother. The show is a tour-de-force monologue with an electro-acoustic score by JJJJJerome Ellis and video by Katherine Freer.

Based on writer Sylvan Oswald's experiences with insomnia, gender transition, and moving to Los Angeles, the project was conceived in 2015 as an art-book collaboration with graphic designer Jessica FleischmannHigh Winds was published in 2017 by X Artists Books. Since then, Sylvan has turned his text into a performance.

The show runs 65 minutes and features lighting by Sarah Lurie, costumes by Haydee Zelideth, and direction by Ellie Heyman.
